Hi, I'm Neeraj.

I'm an Enterprise Data Architect at Hitachi Digital Services, based in New York, with more than two decades of experience designing, building and operating enterprise-scale data, cloud and analytics platforms.

Today I lead enterprise data architecture and governance work: data inventory, data flow mapping and lineage across bronze, silver and gold layers, and SOC 2 Type II readiness, from current-state assessment and gap analysis through remediation. I apply AI-assisted and forward deployed engineering to turn business, data and compliance requirements into practical solutions.

Before that I spent more than nine years as a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York, leading the architecture of big data and cloud data platforms: an enterprise data lake with reusable ingestion frameworks, a Databricks lakehouse bringing together more than fifty sources across more than a hundred production pipelines, cloud cost optimization that cut hundreds of thousands of dollars of wasted compute, and generative AI proofs of concept.

Earlier I led big data consulting at Selsoft, built a network intelligence platform at Torres Networks, and held engineering roles at Cognizant, CSG International, Amdocs and KPIT Technologies, across telecommunications, billing, enterprise integration and manufacturing systems.

I started this site because I wish I'd had a straight-talking guide when I was starting out. Everything here is free: honest career guides for students and engineers, and books that share what two decades of building real systems has taught me.
